Here we are
how we met
HOPEFULLY you already know most of this if you’re invited to our wedding, but here is a brief timeline, as told by Lindsay, confirmed by me -Peter
March 23, 2019
Peter was in Austin with his friend Baxter, who was visiting my friend/his girlfriend Kenzi at the time (they’re wed now, lfg) and the four of us ended up at dinner. I was probably being funny and charming as hell, because Peter asked Kenz for my phone number that night, ignoring the fact that I had a boyfriend (ah yes, his confidence, one of his best qualities)
April 2019
Peter started to call and FaceTime me every weekend without fail. This was actually somewhat sweet because I knew that rather than flirting with girls in person, he was leaving bars and parties alone to go home and call me so we could talk about nothing instead
May 2019
by May we were texting daily and talking on the phone consistently (even on weekdays ladies so you know it was real). It pretty naturally blossomed into a genuine friendship. We were always checking in with each other, chatting about plans, asking one another how the day went. He often made a point to FaceTime me while cooking, “subtly” exhibiting his many qualities that would make him a good suitor
June 2019
on one of our calls, Peter asked about my plans for the 4th. I said was going to be with my extended family at our mountain house in Cashiers / Highlands, North Carolina. He kept commenting on how “awesome” it sounded, so I jokingly asked if he wanted to join, to which he sincerely responded, “yes I’d love to” without a hint hesitation, fully knowing he would be meeting my entire family.
July 3, 2019
the second time we’d ever hung out in person (the first being dinner with Kenzi and Baxter) was when Peter drove up from Atlanta and met my mom, stepdad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings. This was either a massive red flag or a massive green flag, it was TBD
July 4, 2019
this is when I knew I actually liked him. The next morning I couldn’t find Peter anywhere. When I walked down to the kitchen to ask my Nona and mom, they told me he’d gone into town with my Papa “a few hours ago” to run errands and help set up chairs for a community 4th of July event *swoon* Peter had quickly and seamlessly integrated into my family. They loved him (and given my family’s number one priority in life is to chill and have a good time, of course he loved them)
July 6, 2019
within a matter of days it was fairly obvious we did not want to stay away from each other, and despite living in different cities with no plans to relocate on either side, we started dating
The rest is less eventful, so I’ll sum it up in a few more points
March 2020
we really hit the fast track (mostly due to covid, making flying back and forth much harder) and moved in together in Austin
July 2023
Peter proposed where it all began, by the lake at the mountain house
October 2024
moved to Los Angeles
April 12, 2025
marriage!
